Volunteers Needed for Veteran Sanctuary
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE RENOVATION OF PAUL’S HOUSE FOR VETERANS Monroe County Habitat for Humanity needs volunteers to repaint the exterior of The Major Paul Syverson Veterans Sanctuary (commonly referred to as Paul's House). Paul's House is located in the former Hotel Jonas in Polk Township. Paul’s House accommodates up to 13 Veterans a day, serving 3 healthy meals a day that are specifically designed to help with health challenges faced by homeless Veterans. The program is dependent on community donations and volunteers who generously donate over 5,000 combined hours per month . Maintenance, cooking, sorting clothing, delivering furniture and housekeeping are all accomplished thanks to our volunteers. Habitat's project will run from July 15 to 27, 6 days a week, from 9 am to 3 pm. They need 20 volunteers for each day. They currently have only 59 of the 240 volunteers needed. Individuals, groups, businesses, and corporations are all encouraged to sign up for this opportunity. No skills or experience needed! Volunteers can sign up online at Habitat's volunteer calendar: http://www.habitatmc.org/get-involved/job-calendar/ or by contacting Habitat's Volunteer Administrator, Guy Patra, at (570) 216-4390 or firstname.lastname@example.org RESTAURANTS & FOOD SERVICES -- Habitat also needs YOU!
