Working Together, We Will All Get Through This!

Let's support our local businesses through this shutdown. As a community, we can work together to help one another get through our current national crisis. Everyone is hurting and scared. Locally owned businesses, and their employees, are at great risk. They are our friends and neighbors. Please do what you can to patronize them through remote ordering or purchasing gift certificates for use when this passes (and it will pass).

One thing we can all do is to pick at least one day a week to "dine out at home". Many of our local restaurants are offering take-out, curbside, or delivery service. That's a great way to help make sure our community comes out of the other end of this in good shape. These are some of the local restaurants providing take-out service. Please consider ordering lunch today from one of them. Many have reduced hours and special menus right now. Please check their websites or give them a call to find out what they are offering.

Many restaurants, and Hungry?WeDeliver delivery services, have published what extra steps they are taking to make the delivery/to go pick up safe.

Each time we eat in a restaurant, we are trusting in the business to properly store, prepare, handle, and plate our food before it comes to the table. Most restaurants view that trust as imposing an almost "sacred" obligation on them to take extra care to live up to expectations.

You can check out their websites to see what they say they are doing to help protect you.  If you trusted them when you dined in person, there seems to be little reason not to extend that same trust now.

We Want to Help Restaurants & Food Delivery Services

We are inspired seeing everyone in the community leveraging what they have to help our locally-owned restaurants navigate this exceptionally difficult period.  Matt Hensel posts every day, often multiple times a day, picking up meals from different restaurants, the amazingly energetic folks at the Frogtown Chophouse have been relentless in selflessly promoting their competition, even before the shutdown, and even more so now.

We want to do our part and we have two tools to offer:

1. Our online presence on Facebook and this website.  We regularly pull in 12,000 "hits" a week, last week we had over 30,000!

If you are a locally-owned restaurant within about 15 miles of Mount Pocono, help us help you -- send us the following in an email to tom@mountpoconoboro.com --

restaurant name,
webpage you want us to link to,
phone &/or email to order,
services provided (curbside, take out, delivery),
hours/days of operation,
address

2.  And, our print edition.  Our April issue comes out the first week.  We want to help you help us help you!  Our April issue has about 5600 readers within Mount Pocono & for about 15 miles outside it.  It is distributed by the post office to every home in the Borough, and also at various distribution points -- including hotels -- in the area.  Beginning in May, we are increasing our press run and will have an expected readership of over 10,500.

We are a free publication, 100% paid for with our advertising.  To help you make it through this period, we  would like to offer anyone who signs up for the next three issues (April, May, June), a 25% discount on any display ad, of any size.  Check out the pricing in our  2020 MEDIA KIT .  We will also waive your art charges.

Let us know by Tuesday, March 24.  Questions, etc, to Tom Ford, tom@mountpoconoboro.com
